Accurate Meter Control

A water softener’s meter tells it when it needs to regenerate. It can be likened to the engine of a car – the better the meter, the more accurate its analysis of its need to regenerate and therefore the more efficient it is.The Minimax M2 is unique in its design. It’s fitted with two displacement meters that have pinpoint accuracy, they easily measure from a dripping tap all the way up to the highest flow rates of a domestic plumbing system. This means that the system regenerates only when it needs to, using less water and salt, while always supplying you with soft water.

Non Electric Technology

The Minimax M2 is powered efficiently and simply by the flow of water running through your household pipework. An electrician isn’t required to fit a fused spur electrical socket under the kitchen sink. The benefit of being non-electric is that there are no electrical PCB boards to go wrong, no time clocks to adjust when the clocks change or a power cuts occurs. No complicated programming is required, and best of all, when you are away from home, the softener will simply sleep until you are next back in the home, saving you salt and water.

Twin Cylinder

A water softener has two simple jobs – to soften water and clean itself by regeneration. Two cylinders work better than one, when one tank needs to regenerate the other will carry on providing your house with softened water 24/7. As a twin tank can perform both jobs at the same time it works much more efficiently. A single cylinder tank will need to regenerate, but when doing so can’t provide your house with softened water.
The Minimax is a compact design that performs powerfully, there is no programming or adjustment required which makes it simple for you to use.

Easy to Handle Block Salt

Block salt is the only part of your water softener you really need to think about, it is used in the softener regeneration process and it needs to be kept topped up so that your softener can work effectively.Instead of using traditional tablet salt which come in heavy 25kg sacks, the Minimax water softener uses block salt; a lightweight, compact 4kg brick that takes the hassle of out of refilling process, making the process simple. The Minimax M2 takes two blocks of salt at a time, and an average home in a hard water area will use less than a block of salt per person per month.

High Flow Rate

Suitable for all British plumbing systems including tanks in the loft, unvented hot water cylinders such as Megaflows and even on-demand combination boilersThe Minimax M2 features 3/4” high flow connections which means that the flow of water is not restricted down.As a result, the Minimax M2 is able to offer continuous high flow rates of up to 55 litres per minute, which is greater than any standard domestic plumbing system in the UK would require.

The water now tastes better...

A good investment for any household. The water now tastes better with tea and coffee flavours greatly enhanced. We use less detergent for clothes washing and less soap, shampoo and shaving cream. More importantly, the water pipes and storage tank will be completely descaled over time. The unit itself, uses no electricity and operates silently. It fits under the kitchen sink without taking up much room. The only item needed are replacement salt blocks which last a few weeks at a time but these are very easy to replace and the benefits gained are worthwhile. I would recommend it and its made in Britain!

British made with a 10 year warranty!

I've had a powered water softener for years, but replaced it when the control unit started leaking. To be honest I now think it wasn't working for some time. Within a week of installing the Minimax, my normally dry, brittle hair is calm and luxurious! The water doesn't 'taste weird' like it used to, and the idea that I do not have to even consider the unit's operation, let alone worry about it, is great. I did look around at other similar models, but I preferred the price of this one, and that its British made with the 10 year warranty. I couldn't see any additional benefit for a couple more £100s for the competitors' models.
